I wasn’t much a fan of the first season of the Grand Tour, especially when compared to post-Chris Evans Top Gear. I gave up half way through the season when I saw it was full of the same half-assed shenanigans which plagued the final few seasons of CHM Top Gear, and yeah...I didn’t like those much either.

But I reckon I should give it another chance. I’ll let you know if it works out or not.

Skip the first episode. And maybe the second. The jag episode was one of the strongest.

Season 2 is much much better than season one. I skipped through most of Season 1 but really enjoyed some of the special features from S2 especially the 80s Lancia vs Audi Rally rivalry and the Jaguar XJ220 vs. Bugatti EB 110 SS

I dropped Top Gear HARD because Clarkson is a knob .

Then I found Top Gear, but I’ve actually not finished the last two episodes because asinine shenanigans. But Roadkill Garage is always serious. I guess I’m just too old to appreesh.

Season 2 is much better than season 1, for sure. Not great, but you get the occasional glimpse of what made Top Gear great. I am hopeful for season 3.

Just don’t bother watching the “Unscripted” episode. That was the worst hour of TV I have ever watched. The rest of the season was good though.

Oh it was bloody awful. I couldn’t stand the constant battle to see who was the poster child between LeBlanc and Evans, while Chris Harris, Rory Reid, and co. were shafted to the side.

In season 2, there’s a stretch of solid gold film beginning at 44:10 in Episode 7, ending at the end of Episode 8.

Admittedly I only watched 2 episodes. I like LeBlanc a lot outside of Top Gear. Was he not so great as part of the show?

If you have to watch one episode, watch the one with the Group B documentary (S2 E7). The best episode from start to finish was probably the Jaguar one though (S2 E6). Most episodes have at least one good features though, like the 90s supercar battle (S2 E9).

Whatever you do, don’t get your hopes up for the unscripted episode (S2 E4).
